What ages does Sunshine care for?

We care for children from 3 months old up to school age (5 years), across our baby (0–2), 2-year-old and pre-school (3–4) rooms.

What are your opening hours?

We’re open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks a year — closed only on bank holidays.

Where are you located?

We’re at 4 Clifford Street, Redcar, TS10 1RW — just a short walk from the beach and the local library, both of which we love to use as part of our learning.

Do you offer funded places?

Yes. We welcome 15- and 30-hour funded places for eligible families. See our hours & funding page for details, or call us on 01642 486803.

What is your Ofsted rating?

We’re rated Good overall, with Outstanding for both behaviour & attitudes and personal development (inspected October 2023).

Do you provide meals?

Yes — all meals and snacks are freshly prepared each day by our cook on a three-week rotating menu, with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. We’re happy to cater for dietary requirements and allergies. Read more on our nutrition & healthy eating page.

How do you help children settle in?

Every child has a dedicated key person, and we arrange gentle pre-admission visits so your child can get comfortable at their own pace. Find out more about settling in.

What is your approach to learning?

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, drawing on the Curiosity Approach, Reggio Emilia and forest-school ideas, with play and children’s interests at the heart of everything. Learn more about our curriculum and home learning.

How will I know what my child has been doing?

We use the Famly app to share daily updates — meals, naps, nappy changes and photos of your child at play — so you never miss a moment.
